Stuck and in a funk? Read This
Nov 29, 2021
Believe it or not, around this time, lots of women in their midlife start feeling sad, dejected or perhaps a bit pensive about our time. Not sure whether we are going or coming, we start thinking through the source of this feeling and how to address it.
Sis, if you just have the feeling that something is "off" or you just aren't sure how you ought to be spending your time, then this message is for you.

You are not alone. This feeling may linger for a while or worse, it can be pervasive. Lots of women in their midlife get bouts of "unhappiness" or feelings of confusion as they navigate integrating their work, family and faith.
I understand.
I understand how you feel because I have had this same feeling before. It usually festers with some thoughts of comparison with a friend, colleague or neighbor where you are wondering why her/his//their life feels a lot more..."livelier" than yours.
Two things that have helped me beat this feeling?
1) I remind myself that I am capable of getting through this and that there is no shame in getting help. Find someone that has an ear and a heart to listen, and share your sincere thoughts. Better yet, invest in a credible coach with values aligned with yours. There is so much freedom in seeking help.
2) I remind myself that God is still on the throne. He is God alone and He alone is God. He always was, IS and ever will be on the throne. He who started a good thing in my life will never sleep or slumber. He is not blind-sighted about my thoughts or feelings and ALL my tears are ever present in His care. I am still alive which means I can still count my blessings and keep running this race.
This week of thanksgiving, in what ways can you count your blessings (even if it's just to get you out of feeling funky.)
With God's Abundant love,
Dr Bola
